Offering you membership with the National Governing Body for Baton Twirling, the only association recognised by the Irish Sports Council, the member of the World Baton Twirling Federation AND the National Baton Twirling Association, BTSAI can give any baton twirler or majorette all they could possibly ask for.

Forms must be returned via email to membership@btsai.ie, membership will commence on 1st January for all schemes. Membership can be applied for at any time of the year. Closing date for NBTA membership for eligibility to enter NBTA events 2009 is 21/11//08. Closing date for BTSAI membership for eligibility to enter WBTF events 2009 is 31/12/08.

Article 2 – Membership

 

Section 1.1 - WBTF Membership

WBTF membership is divided into two sub-categories, Full and Affiliate. All WBTF members are automatically granted membership of NBTA Ireland.

 

Section 1.1.1 – New Applications for Full Membership

New corps/clubs may apply for full membership by first writing to elected membership officer (MO). Upon receipt of same, the MO will send official application forms by post, electronically, or on-line, to be provided by the association. Acceptance or rejection of the application should be based on criteria established by the association. Such a corps/club shall not be entitled to a vote during the first 3 month period of membership, commencing on official date accepted by the executive.

 

Section 1.1.2 – New Applications for Affiliate Membership

 

New corps/clubs may apply for affiliate membership for athletes and coaches only by first writing to elected membership officer (MO). Upon receipt of which, the MO will send official application forms by post or electronically, to be provided by the association. Acceptance or rejection of the application should be based on criteria established by the association. Such a corps/club shall not be entitled to any voting rights. The Membership Officer reserves the right to contact the Association you also hold membership with to obtain any information regarding your status within that Association. Affiliate members may only have membership with ONE other Association that operates in Ireland.

 

Affiliate membership is not perpetual.

 

Section 2.1 – Renewals of Full Membership Applications

 

While membership of corps/club is perpetual, all corps/clubs members must renew their annual application at the end of the current membership year by identifying each athlete, coach, corps director individually, on a renewal form provided by the MO.

 

Section 2.2 – Renewals of Affiliate Membership Applications

 

Affiliate membership is not perpetual. Therefore, after a term determined by the executive, the affiliate member corps/club may not reapply for affiliate membership but may apply for full membership.

 

Section 3 – Failure to Meet Criteria for Full and Affiliate Members

 

It is a condition of membership of the association, that all those that operate in the corps are registered with the association. Failure to do so will result in increase in entry fees per non-registered athlete per event for BTSAI open competitions, and rejection of non registered members application to enter BTSAI closed competitions, including nationals and trials. Non registered individuals cannot attend any other closed BTSAI run events.

 

Section 4 – Membership Dues for Full and Affiliate Members TBC

 

Section 5 – Rejection of Application and Revoking of Membership for Full and Affiliate Members

 

It is at the discretion of the membership officer to bring any concerns regarding new application or renewal of membership application queries for discussion with the executive.  A decision may be made by the board regarding rejection/renewal and processing of application or revoking of membership when necessary, shall not be ratified until such time as all documentation required for membership has been completed and all fees that are due are paid.

 

Section 6 – World and International Cup Trials – Available places for Full Members

 

Full and Affiliate members may apply to represent Ireland at WBTF World Baton Twirling Championships and International Cup by applying to enter BTSAI trials held every year. Full and Affiliate Members will both trial on the same day but in separate divisions which may be run together. Full members may qualify for any places for both competitions on attaining the minimum score and required elements previously decided by the BTSAI technical board. Full members will secure the places over affiliate members who may only fill the remaining unsecured places. Affiliate members will also need to meet the requirements to qualify.

 

Full Members may qualify for the following World Championships events:

Junior/Senior Women Freestyle

Junior/Senior Men Freestyle

Junior/Senior Pair

Team

 

Affiliate Members may qualify for the following World Championships events:

Junior/Senior Women Freestyle

Junior/Senior Men Freestyle

Junior/Senior Pair

 

Full Members may qualify for the following International Cup events:

 

Level A&B Solo 1, 2 and 3 Baton

Level A & B Teams and Groups

 

Affiliate Members may qualify for the following International Cup events:

 

Level A Solo 1, 2 and 3 Baton ONLY

Level A & B Teams and Groups

 

Section 7 - NBTA Membership

NBTA membership is divided into two sub-categories, Baton Twirling and Majorettes. NBTA membership does not grant automatic membership to WBTF.

 

Section 7.1 – New Applications (NBTA)

New corps/clubs may apply for Baton Twirling (NBTA) or Majorette membership by first writing to elected membership officer (MO). Upon receipt of same, the MO will send official application forms by post, electronically, or on-line, to be provided by the association. Acceptance or rejection of the application should be based on criteria established by the association. The Membership Officer reserves the right to contact the Association you also hold membership with to obtain any information regarding your status within that Association. NBTA (Ireland) members may only have membership with ONE other Baton Twirling/Majorette Association. NBTA membership is governed by the BTSAI Executive.

 

NBTA membership is not perpetual.

Baton Twirling (NBTA) Members may enter any NBTA Baton Twirling Competitions run by BTSAI or NBTA.

 

Majorette Members may enter any Majorette Competition organised by NBTA.

 

Members of BTSAI (NBTA only) may not enter any WBTF competitions.
